Look at the face of the future with this scout concept hover car

This unimaginable vehicle looks more like an unidentified flying object rather than a car. Being a scout concept, this turns out to be a hover car destined for the future. Developed by designer Norio Fujikawa, this vehicle is not supposed to be a green car, but mind boggling speeds are guaranteed.

This futuristic hover car is expected to go 400 - 500 miles per hour on the land, hopefully will not make you feel claustrophobic. The scout concept appears to have a self-speaking design makes this car stands out in a crowd while its curved lines look really imposing.

The concept is supposed to be a two-seater with power taken from its two turbine engines. The speed only makes it the center of attention, but are we going to have a safe driving? Additionally, the scout concept is reported to be able to be lifted at a low altitude.

Lamborghini murcielago super car goes green

If you are a big fan of Lamborghini you will be interested to know that Lamborghini Murcielago super car turns into a sustainable car. This Italian green luxury offers now some modifications to finally improve its V12 engine combustion with car becoming lighter.

What is unbelievable is that even with its new retrofitted engine, the Italian super car is still capable of reaching its top speed of 350 kilometers per hour thus planning to reduce its carbon dioxide emissions by 35 per cent.

Carbon dioxide emissions are decreased even in their main factory at Sant Agata Bolognese by installing 17 000 square meters of solar panels on the factory roof with factory cutting emissions by 30 per cent. In addition to this, stop / start system was introduced by Italian car maker with friction reduced.

The super car is reported to emit 495 gram of CO2 per kilometer to reduce their emissions three times from its saloon. There are less than 1500 Lamborghinis sold worldwide with sales falling down. However with all carbon emissions reduction, super cars are still most polluting on the roads. Anyway, if you like driving your super Lambo, it would be more sustainable to drive its green version.

New American flying car

Americans are first to show the future. A flying car named Transition is a first product of American company Terrafugia. An American company Terrafugia conducted first tests of their first product, a flying car named Transition. This is reported to be a real roadable aircraft giving a chance to explore both the roads and the sky. Terrafugia considers it to be a personal air vehicle.

According to official report, the innovation is certified to be used on public roads. The flying car is able to take off from any runway, however the Transition pilot will have to have a special driving license. The company representatives insist that such a license can be obtained after having taken special courses which include 20 flight hours.

It is a front wheel drive vehicle when used on public roads which is driven by a usual gasoline engine. The air vehicle uses the powerful 100 HP propeller engine Rotax 912S while flying in the sky. Transformation from a usual car to a real aircraft takes just 30 seconds. It is the exact time needed for the car to fold its wings to be ready for a flight. Cruising range is about 724 flight hours with a top speed of 185 kilometers per hour. If driven on public roads, Transition car will be able to drive as much as 105 kilometers without refueling.

It is now far from full-scale production of this marvelous flying car but the company intends to improve its design with more additional tests to come both on public roads and in the air. A new prototype is going to be developed. Popularity rating shows that the Transition car is already being customized. Upfront payment amounts to 10 000 US dollars while purchase price is 194 000 US dollars. The Transition air vehicle is expected to be released in 2011. Drivers will drive the vehicle to an airport where they will be allowed to take off of 100 to 500 miles. The transition air vehicle is designed for two people including luggage and is going to be operated via unleaded gas. So let's face the future with all its miracles to come.

Zero Pollution Motors with a new concept air-powered car

Would you like driving a futuristically looking car running on air? Zero Pollution Motors unveils its new concept of air powered car. Being still under construction, this intelligent eco-friendly car is going to hit the roads by the year 2011. According to its engineers, the amount of energy needed to run this air powered car is high.

For an electric battery for example less energy is required. This environmentally friendly car is very cool in the looks while giving you a chance to get a new eco driving experience. This smart compressed-air car is scheduled to be produced in United States. These cars running on air are expected to produce no CO2 emissions and operate by means of air compressor designed to pressurize air inside its tank.

This gorgeous zero emissions car is expected to have a price tag from 000 to 000 by the time it reaches United States. The Zero Pollution Motors air powered car requires no combustion while releasing the air when driven at low speeds. A high speed driving is possible due to a small regular engine heating the air so that it could be released more rapidly. In such a manner, more air is compressed.

According to The Zero Pollution Motors, its zero emissions car will be capable to house six people. Another real advantage is its fuel economy with 106mpg while producing 75 horsepower which is good enough for these kinds of cars. The compressed-air car also features 6 cylinder motor while having a driving range of about 850 miles.

World's Fastest Car Is Being Built Out of a Fighter Jet

Some men never grow up. But a few men with a racing fever take their hobby to the extreme, in their attempt at building the world's fastest car out of a fighter jet. The New York Times informs us that Ed Shadle, a 67-years-old retired IBM field engineer has dedicated the last ten years to converting a Lockheed F-104 Starfighter, which he bought for $25,000, in a really hot rod.

He and his good friend Keith Zanghi found the F-104 in 1999, after about one year of searching, in Maine, where the jet had been sold by Air Force to a Los Angeles company and was “about two months from being turned into beer cans,” Mr. Zanghi recalls. “In a post-9/11 world we probably wouldn’t have been able to get one,” Mr. Shadle acknowledged, but they managed to get it for “only” $25,000. The engine needed in order to achieve their goal was simply out of reach for them, but S&S Turbines leased them a J49 engine for almost nothing. Since then, the two and their team, formed of 44 volunteers, gave up their weekends and vacations to work on this project.

Their goal is to set a new land speed record of about 800 miles per hours - 45 miles per hour faster than the speed of sound. Besides being a really tough job getting there, they also have strong competition.

Richard Noble and Andy Green from Britain already broke the sound barrier in 1997, with a record of 763 miles per hour. Recently, they have announced a new project, called Bloodhound, also a jet-and-rocket car, whose declared target is reaching the amazing speed of 1,000 miles per hour. Their advantages include private-sector sponsorship, university technical support and even financing from the British government.

We keep our fingers crossed for the passionate and, why not say it, a little crazy, Shadle and his North American Eagle, which is set to try breaking the record next year, in July, in the hardpan desert at Black Rock, Nevada. Of course, the driver will be Shadle himself. I’d like to know his wife's opinion on this entire story.
